About this journal: This is However Brief. It's a combination of links I find, pseudo-intellectual/philosophical commentary on a variety of topics, worrying about personal issues and the world at large, sometimes feeling sorry for myself or ranting, counterpoints to said wallowing, occasional poetry, lists, conversations, stories, and moments of my life I choose to record. Be warned: I write about myself a lot. I don't know everything or even very much. I repeat myself. I get in funks and general "moods" for long periods of time, and I don't always have something good to say. It is a journal after all. Not all of it is flattering, comprehensible, or even worth reading, but I like to think that every once in a while, I have thoughts other people might identify with or find interesting. That's part of why I post here.

You don't have to agree with me, but please try to keep in mind this isn't my whole life. You're only getting a slice of it. As a result, it will often be abstract or out of context. Also, not all I write is public. Feel free to peruse what's unlocked, and let me know via comment if you'd like to read the more private stuff. I admit I am far from perfect, but I will not apologize for any of these things. If you like it, great. If you don't like it, I won't try to convince you otherwise. Don't waste your time.

About me: My name is Fiona. I have lived in Northern Nevada my whole life. For now, hanging out in the center of a small city with two cats for roommates, it's looking like it will stay that way. I'm okay with that for the most part.

On September 7, 2013, I married a wonderful man named Mike Jones. Our story was made possible only by the internet. Pretty fitting really.

I received my B.A. in English (writing emphasis) with a minor in philosophy (I like ancient and postmodern theory the most) in May 2005. I added on my more marketable A.A.S. in paralegal/law in May 2010. Currently, I work full time as a document specialist supervisor, which is just a fancy way of saying I both proofread a wide variety of legal documents for a living and supervise a handful of other workers who proofread. I also do freelance legal assistant/paralegal work when it's available, though this hasn't happened in a while. Surprisingly, I'm interested in many other things that won't fit here. If you want to find out more, you have lots of options at your disposal beyond this short introduction, starting with the archives and ending who knows where in the great ether of the internet.

Anyway, that's about it for now. Thanks for reading. Adios, amigos.
