Pope says condoms are not the answer to the AIDS epidemic- Stuff like this just makes me angry. Say that condoms aren't the answer and that people should be abstinent all you want, but it's not going to stop the spread of a deadly disease. There are always going to be people who have sex regardless of religious teachings. To ignore that is a little irresponsible, especially if there are accessible ways to prevent new HIV infections. I know we're talking about the Catholic Church here, but seriously, it's ridiculous.

OK, so here's what I'm going to try to make (if you're curious and perhaps hungry):

Bockwurst Sausages
Sauerkraut
Spaeztle
Potato Pancakes
Homemade Applesauce
Beets

I've never made the potato pancakes or the applesauce before, but my mom said it's really easy. Anyone want to join us for dinner?

(Oh, and don't get me wrong. Corned beef is delicious; it's just not Irish. I do this to mess with people every year.)

EDIT: Made everything except the sauerkraut. The applesauce was really good, and the potato pancakes were OK. They were thicker than when my mom makes them, and they got a little brown after I left them out for a while. We'll see if they're all right to eat tomorrow. Good to know for next time.
